Genmab rises 13.7% after new colorectal cancer trial data

Genmab shares were up 13.7% from the previous close in Reuters' 11:50 CET snapshot, the strongest move in the STOXX 600. The company published updated phase 2 petosemtamab data; the share-price reaction does not determine future trial or stock outcomes.

The largest confirmed move in the checked afternoon snapshot was Genmab's 13.7% gain from the previous close. Reuters reported the move at 11:50 CET on 26 October 2026 and said it was the strongest performance in the STOXX 600. In the same snapshot, Computacenter was up 9.5%, Galp was down 9.7% and the broader STOXX 600 was 0.4% higher.

The direct information event was updated phase 2 data for petosemtamab in metastatic colorectal cancer. Genmab reported confirmed and unconfirmed objective response rates of 75% in first-line and 67% in second-line treatment, with median follow-up of 5.9 and 7.1 months respectively. These are clinical-trial findings, not a guarantee of regulatory approval.

Reuters linked the share move to the update, but a market price also reflects expectations and risk. Later prices may differ from the 11:50 CET snapshot, and the gain is neither a buy recommendation nor a forecast of the next move.

What exactly did the company report?

Petosemtamab is an experimental antibody being studied, including in combination with standard treatments. The release updated phase 2 findings and described the depth and durability of responses in metastatic colorectal cancer.

An objective response rate describes the share of patients with a measurable reduction in tumour size. It is not the same as overall survival, regulatory approval or commercial success. The company said global phase 3 trials are under way.

Why can a biotech share move so sharply?

A biotechnology company's valuation can depend heavily on the probability of success of a small number of clinical programmes. New data can quickly change expectations for future revenue, development costs and regulatory risk.

That explains a possible mechanism but does not prove that the entire move came from one release. Reuters described the market link; investors may also react to liquidity, positioning and broader sentiment.

Reference point and comparison

The 13.7% move was measured from the previous close and came from the 11:50 CET snapshot. It was not a closing price. Later trading can be higher or lower.

The comparison with the STOXX 600's 0.4% rise shows that Genmab's move was company-specific. It does not show whether the shares are cheap or expensive.
