No Sunday session in Asia: OPEC+ meets today while Bitcoin stays active
OPEC scheduled the next meeting of seven OPEC+ countries for 1 November, but no outcome had been announced at publication time. JPX is closed on Sundays, while Binance showed BTC at $77,565.38 and up 0.30% over a rolling 24-hour window at 03:43 CET.
Sunday morning splits markets into two groups. Asian equities, major currency pairs and most commodity futures are not in standard trading at 06:00 CET. Crypto remains active, so only crypto prices can be described as current — always with a source and exact timestamp.
There was no overnight Asian equity session today. Japan Exchange Group states that JPX markets are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, and there is no OSE or TOCOM night session on a Sunday. The latest equity quotes therefore come from Friday and should not be presented as Sunday prices.
The latest confirmed macro reference for Asia remains China's official PMI released on Saturday. Manufacturing PMI fell to 49.3 in October from 50.1 in September. The data are a fact, but the reaction of equities, the yuan and commodities after reopening remains a scenario.
Foreign exchange is also outside its standard Sunday session at this hour. CME's EUR/USD contract specification lists trading from the Sunday open in Chicago time through Friday, which means the new FX-futures week has not yet started on Sunday morning in Warsaw. Friday quotes are reference points, not live prices.
For commodities, the day's main scheduled event is the meeting of seven OPEC+ countries. OPEC's official statement after the 4 October meeting named 1 November as the date of the next meeting. At publication time, the available statement confirmed the schedule but did not yet provide today's outcome, so we do not assign a decision that has not been announced.
Production-target decisions can alter expectations about future oil supply, but they do not mechanically determine price direction. When futures reopen, the reaction will also depend on demand, inventories, geopolitics and positioning. A rise, a fall or a limited response are scenarios, not a forecast.
Crypto trades without a weekend pause. Binance's price page showed Bitcoin at $77,565.38 and up 0.30% over a rolling 24-hour window; the update was marked at 02:43 UTC, or 03:43 CET, on 1 November 2026. This is a snapshot from one venue and one moment, not a single price for the whole market.
Today's key rule is to separate a scheduled event from an announced decision, Friday reference prices from live trading, and fact from scenario. This material is educational and is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Prodigy uses virtual money and simulated trades.
What can change later on Sunday?
OPEC+ may publish a statement after the meeting. Only such a document can confirm the decision; earlier expectations and commentary remain scenarios.
Currency and commodity futures will begin the new week according to their exchange schedules. The first price after reopening may incorporate information accumulated during the weekend pause.
Why is crypto not a forecast for Monday?
Bitcoin has its own liquidity, participants and price-discovery mechanism. Its Sunday move does not determine the direction of the yen, oil or Asian equity indices after reopening.
When comparing markets, record the source, timestamp, reference point and session state. Without them, one number can imply recency that does not exist.
